Nardil+ Xanax+Coffe = 3 beers?

Posted by tepi on January 20, 2008, at 14:56:57

I have been dealing with some jobs interview
I usually take 45mg NArdil+3mg Xanax
Now when an interview comes , I take my Nardil
then instdead of 1mg of Xanax I take 2mg before
the interview and then I drink Coffee
Xanaxs makes me feel free but I got somnolence
so I take the coffe to be alert and speak all
I can in the interviews . It has helps in someway

However Im afraid this could not be done all days becauase I will develop tolerance. Im sure of it

So do you think , instead of coffe I could be
taking this stimulant , maybe Provigil.
is it dangerous to enter to this kind of drugs?

I dont know what else to say , what do you think about my little history?

Rigth now I have no energy, dont wanna leave bed

Hi Tepi a bit confused as you say that the xanax and coffee allow for the interview but your're in bed? Are you longer working and staying in bed? Love Phillipa

Hi Tepi,

For me Provigil has been a very rough and nasty *and* good experience. It is very unpredictable. It definitely increases my anxiety. However, for 4-5 days I can take it and feel my spirits lift a but, have more energy and motivation. But it also makes me very nervous and jittery so I end up taking more Klonopin than I am prescribed for that day.

Then it poops out, and if I keep taking it it makes me very depressed. The point of all this I guess is that if you want to try a stimulant, Provigil isn't the first one I'd try.

Sounds like you MAY have 'some sort of' caffein intolerance like me. Caffein was great with Nardil but one day of usage =ed 3 days of tiredness that followed.

Now I'm even worse. Even ONE cup of tea (50mg caffein) will keep me revved up most of the day. Next day I'll wake up ok but by late afternoon I'm asleep & suffer for a couple of days, making my meds feel like sugar pills.

IMO its VERY hard to get a steady release of dopamine from any type of stim without some sort of consequences. I think you should leave the caffein alone, recover and then let Nardil take care of your dopamine levels. Give it some time though. And if you're a regular caffein user expect withdraw symptoms - lethargy/somnolence, depression, apathy, headaches, etc. Make sure pain killers for the headaches DONT contain caffein, and taking showers whilst alternating between hot & cold spray can also help. Also eat well with plenty of protein at each meal. Try a short course of HIGH dose Korean Ginseng to keep you going in the meantime.

I'm actually going to add Wellbutrin to my Marplan + Klonopin combo for a very similar reason (Hypersomnia) as well as to stop smoking. I took Wellbutrin without any problem with Nardil 90mg & Klonopin 1.5mg so maybe thats something you'd like to try?

Thats my suggestions anyway. Caffein? I HATE the stuff! Benign stimulant IT IS NOT.

Didn't know there was a coffee intolerance or caffeine as it reves me up so much that I can't drink coffee and I used to love coffe, grind my own beans and add a little milk. Phillipa

Yeh, Caffein, alcohol & nicotine are the 3 top culprit 'vices' which effect mood negitively. Can even render a med (which would otherwise work) powerless. Hence why I want to quit smoking ASAP. And I dont drink alcohol nor caffein (if I can help it).

decaf? :) I dunno, I like the taste of coffee. But more than a few cups to keep me awake and I start, well, dissociating. But my anxiety is different.
