How long do I have to take this med to feel any results?? I haven't noticed anything but the 57 bucks missing from my checkbook paying for it. Does it take a while to kick in??

Deplin is one of the new "medical food" products. They're available only by prescription, and although they're based on naturally occurring nutrients, they're in a synthesized form created in a lab. So, are they a medicine? Or a supplement? It doesn't much matter what you call them, but since they're prescription only, let's call them medications...
My understanding is that Deplin is useful as an adjunctive agent with conventional antidepressants, rather than an antidepressant agent in its own right. As such, I think I'd expect it to take a bit of time to show its effects.
For what it's worth, I take a different methylfolate-containing medical food called Metan-X. I can't tell you if it helps or not, but I still take it. Maybe it is helping, and it's apparently a good deal cheaper than Deplin, so I can't see any reason to stop it.
Good luck.

it's a supplement but they turned it into a med and you have to have a scrpt for it,, It is supposed to help serotion cross the brain barrier or somethng like that.. I am not too interested since it doesn't do much for me.. thanks racer for clarifying
