Sweating/hot with Lamictil

I've started taking a baby dose 12.5mg of Lamictil at night - working my way up slowly. But I sweat all night! Plus, I feel emotional and erratic sometimes in the morning. This morning (after sweating all night) I had to take a Xanax before work just to be rational.

Will my body get used to this?

I am also using the 6mg. Emsam patch.

My other option if this doesn't work is to increase my patch to 9mg and use Klonopin at night (which doesn't give me any problems, but does make me a little depressed - which is why I would have to up my Emsam).

Would that be a better option? Or will I stop sweating and calm down on the Lamictil?

I didn't stop sweating until I stopped taking Lamictal. It helped to keep an ice pack in the freezer that I could pop into my bra while I was at home. Other than standing in front of a blasting air conditioner, I found no other relief.

The symptom stopped as soon as I stopped taking the medication. This wasn't the deal-breaker for me - I was on it for a year and a half. It didn't seem to keep my moods from cycling as I expected it would, and at the 300mg dosage it made my hair fall out.

Sheila how high is you dose and goal dose as I took 50mg and didn't have any sweating as I sweat at night a given. Phillipa
