Eat, eat, eat, but always hungry

Posted by ronaldo on April 10, 2007, at 14:24:48

Hello people

I was 4 years on 5 mg Zyprexa. Since last October I have now reduced to zero for the past 25 days. I never put on any weight and never had hunger pains but now I feel hungry all the time and nothing I eat seems to satisfy the hunger. Is this another blessing from Eli Lilley? Can anyone advise me or tell me what is happening to me? What can I do or take to get rid of the hunger pains? I am normally a well-proportioned 5 foot 9 inch, 175 lbs male. Is this the Zyprexa having a paradoxical effect?

Any comments gratefully received

Amphetamines are great for taking away your appetite. Maybe your doc could put you on a low dose of Adderall.

Do you eat veggies? They can actualy take away hunger, because your body is hungry for nutrients. Also exercise developes a healthy appetite. Other thing is you could be depressed, and eat.

Interesting though, all the way off zyprexa and hungry. Were you hungry ever day since you stoped the zyprexa, which is the oposit of me. Maybe thats just my symptoms returning and not withdraw. I couldn't eat before the zyprexa, I was down to 150lbs and I'm 5'10".

Hi Sebastian

I do eat veggies, maybe not as much as I should. I was not hungry since the day I stopped Zyprexa. I think actually it was caused by eating some stale, slightly off, yoghurt. I had terrible gastric resurgence during the night and then the next morning, greedy gannet that I am, I demolished the remaining cup of yoghurt which was also slightly off. That was Monday night and Tuesday morning. Today Wedneday I am feeling a bit better - less hunger pains, but they are still there. Serves me right for not being more careful. The best before date on the lid was 30 April but I don't think the fridge was cold enough.

Regards

ronaldo

Water will suppress your appetite, and eating raw vegatables and fruit for late-night snacks will help with weight-gain avoidance.
