Used to be so many threads on the SSRI's have people decided they don't work? And gone on to heavier meds? Or not posting about them as they work right away? I just notice a different trend. Love Phillipa

Seems this board is geared more to the treatment resistant patient. Most PDOCs are going to try the SSRIs first. When a couple of those don't work, they will move on to the other classes. Most of the people that post here have been on multiple drug combinations. If that first SSRI works, great. I wish it would have worked for me. 45+ combinations and counting.
Take care,

I think PB is mostly for treatment resistant people, and for this class of people ssri's are just not strong enough. So people here tend to turn to the more powerful drugs which include the MAOI's. It's like sipping on lite beer when you could be taking straight shots of Tequila..lol.

Here's one thing I like to remind myself about message boards. I visit several- this, depression forums, anxiety boards, diet, fitness, health boards, hobby-related, school/work related...
The ones who tend to frequent these boards are the ones who are not doing well. They are in need of support. They are usually having difficulties with the related topic. People on these boards do not represent the entire world. People come here to vent, to ask for help, to complain with others.
There are people who are doing well on meds who aren't on these boards. There are people who aren't doing well but are not on these boards.
Sometimes we just need to step away from the computer and try to live... not over-think. I don't always do this, and have a lot of free time to post right now. But just think about that. This isn't the real world. Nor do we give fully accurate discriptions of our experiences and moods and lives in writting. It's all subject to style and interpretation.
