Would neurontin be likely useful for any of these? And if so, which might it best help? Thanks...Saturn.

The Neurontin people (Parke-Davis, maybe?) have already had to pay out a huge settlement for illegally promoting neurontin off-label, mostly to shrinks. Apparently, shrinks are still rx-ing it for everything, as intended. It really doesn't work. Its worse than placebo for bipolar, it caused suicides in some studies, it doesn't have any solid evidence for adhd or anxiety disorders...
its just not good stuff.

Thanks...Saturn.Yes, there were scandals about it with drug reps, but as far as the agent itself, it actually has few side effects. It is self-limiting, generally more than 900mg at a time and you just pee it out.
For sleep, a small part of the population does find it effective for that.
When I first started Neurontin my speech was slurred and it was more sleep-inducing. Today, its only an adjunctive to the Valium I take, as I don't believe by itself it is powerful enough for my particular disorder alone.
Lyrica is much more powerful than Neurontin but unfortunately I can't take it because I'm one of the 10% of people who get blurry (20/20 to 20/40) vision with it. Otherwise I've heard good reports about Lyrica and it probably otherwise is similar in regards to Neurontin as it is pretty close molecularly.

Again, its only a subset of people who receive Lyrica who get blurry vision. Everyone on here who has taken it has not reported it. I am on polypharmacy which could have increased my chances of getting that side effect.

done by a Yale psychiatrist. Who can one believe anymore if not the so-called experts in the Ivory towers at one of the top 10 psychiatric facilities in the country?
HEAL THYSELF!!!!
I've had it with the experts, I'm getting better results from the other experts on this site and from lots of research on other meds and natural supplements that hold better promise than the latest and greatest pharmaceutical miracles.
Serotonin meds never worked for me, so why try them over and over for more than 10 years???? They don't work, leave them out of the equation.
They may work for some of you but for anyone with a chronic, resistent depression that has responded very well in the past to MAO's, what should you try, more serotonin drugs?
I wanted to retry Nardil before trying Cymbalta...Bad decision.
I asked to try Nardil before starting Emsam...the latest miracle drug but cost prohibitive for many...Still hoping on this one. There are many of us who have suffered needlessly because our docs don't want to admit they are clueless about what to try next.
How about saying "I can't help you...go should see Dr. Jeckyl at the Einstein center, who has more experience in dealing with cases like yours. Just tell me you know nothing, I will understand that and move on, rather than trusting in you for 20 years, believing in your good will but losing my life in years I could have tried more natural or unorthodox tratments, that I believe now could have a better chance of working.
At least I'm hoping will.Sorry for digression, I'm in a very angry place lately, so much for the miracle drug Emsam, which I haven't given up entirely yet, but I have begun supplemention with DLPA today and hope for a good outcome.
