I have been back on Lexapro for a few months and loving it. However I am lookng over my shoulder for when the meltdown happens. I am a character in Awakenings or Brain Candy -- waiting for the end of enjoying myself.
Trying to come up with a new pdoc.
Have a stash of tianeptine for when I can not stretch the lexapro any further. But I would like to stay with the Lexapro as long as possible.
People have been helpful here with suggestions that I might try naltrexine to reverse SSRI meltdown or Nortriptyline in combination with the Lexapro. I am trying to strategize while I am in good shape. I will be grateful for any other possible suggestions. The Lexapro works so well for me.
Any forward-thinking pdocs in NYC?Thanks
2 more short days and then it turns around.

You mean in two days it will quit working? Or you don't have a scrip for it? I'm dense I guess. Love Phillipa

I think she means two more short days (days when sun up late and down early), after which they days start getting longer again and we start having more daylight (no more SAD - yahoo!). Sorry, eleanor, for speaking for you.

I'm glad that you have found relief with the Lexapro. And, it sounds like you have thought of some good strategies, just in case you need to augment. I have heard that Nortriptyline can be a good addition to an SSRI. I tried it briefly with Celexa, but stopped because it made my heart race.
I hope the Lexapro keeps working for you! Take care. Like you, I am counting the days until we get an extra 2-minutes of daylight with each passing day. Won't be long!

The meltdown has begun -- beyond a craving -- an absolute necessity for sweets. the cuticle, nail, what's between my teeth obsession starts earlier in the day
and today i woke up distressed
i am going to increase the lexapro for a few weeks to avaoid turning the holidays into a science experiment and then find a doctor that will let me try to comlement the lexapro with one of the following.naltrexine
Nortriptyline
Adderalli have a stash of taineptine to try once i have to give up on the lexapro. i am hoping to find a doctor smart enough to work with me on this or stupid enough to allow me to make believe i remain on lexapro so that i can continue to get scripts on the other meds i take
