Can't decide wheather or not I like this drug, i have recently lowered my dose to 2.5 mg a nigh and am thinking of going lower due to the restlessness and the impaired cognative functioning.
Anybody have trouble deciding wheather or not they like abilify either?

Yeah. Couldnt decide either, then it finally just made me too crazy, no matter how small a dose I took. I stopped for a couple months and tried again, titrated very slowly to a smaller dose than I was taking before and now I really like it in terms of better initiative, alertness and motivation. I'm at 5 mg a.m., 5 again in the afternoon.
Point being a washout period and more careful handling of dosage made all the difference for me. But once it had made me crazy, the washout period was critical to acheiving later success with it...Good luck!

I took it once, and that night I had a seizure- something that never happened to me before or since. I threw the bottle away immediately, but I had minor throttles for several nights afterwards before they simmered away. Scary.

I tried the smallest dose that I could cut with an exacto knife, 1.25mg last night, and today I feel less restlessness, but more depression and my other meds(antidepressants) seemed to be blocked or not working today somehow...very frustrating and sad, still don't know what to do...hopefully it will get better tomorrow when my body adjusts to it, or else its back to the higher dose and more restlessness and depleated motor fuctioning.

The only stimulation i find on this dose (1.25mg) is ocasional restlessness, but i guess i still have to give it some more time...
Thanks for all the replies to my thread, hope to see more in the future.
Thanks!

Today (one week after starting the dose of 1.25mg or Abilify)I am really starting to feel the old side effects come back and it is extremely disappointing...The side effects I have are: weakness, nervousness and the feeling of being scared of everything, depression, restlessness, insomnia, and out of it kind of feeling, my dexedrine is not working as well as it used to, and diminished sex drive. But cognitive motor functions are still normal.
If this continues tomorrow or gets worse I may have to scrap the Abilify alltogether and go on another mood stablizer...its a tough descison and I STILL CAN'T DECIDE ABOUT ABILIFY, can you?
