I can't stand these stupid twitches. Just when I'm trying to rest or go to sleep, they start up all over my body (but only one twitch at a time). What's causing them? My meds are:
Depakote 500mg
Wellbutrin, 225mg
Cymbalta, 60mg
Seroquel, 12.5mgAny feedback is appreciated.

I would suspect the wellbutrin first and the the cybmalta.

I would guess the Cymbalta. I got them really horribly and I'd been on a trial of Cymbalta right before I tried Effexor XR (is XR right for the long acting one?)
No one knew which drug caused them, but mine got worse even after I quit the Effexor. Went to a neurologist and got every test imaginable. Once I started back on my Parnate, they have disappeared mostly. Funny thing is, they didn't start once I washed out the Parnate. They started when I tried new meds.
Good luck and let us know if you figure anything out. By the way, there is another post from a week or so ago that discusses this issue. If I can find it, I will link to it if I can figure out how. I'm still new to the site.

First guess...wellbutrin.
Second guess...depakote.Wellbutrin can cause tremors and other weird movements.
Depakote is known to cause tremors. When I took it I got a little twitch in my eye. It went away in a week by itself. But I also got restless legs syndrome. That was at just 500mg. By itself it didn't do that, but with lexapro in the background it did. Later with zoloft it did it even worse. Depakote gave me tremors in certain resting positions, like leaninig on an elbow or something like that.
Cymbalta might not be directly causing it, but in the presence of wellbutrin and/or depakote could be a contributing factor, though probably not the main cause.
Seroquel could do that. I discovered that with just 25mg I got restless legs syndrome from it. It's hard for me to imagine 12.5mg could cause a problem. But stranger things have happened.

Maybe you can be more specific about what the "twitches" are?

They're like ticks or spasms that happen in a second. They can happen anywhere on my body but seem to be more frequent on the arms and hands.

Did you just start a new AD? Lexapro and cymbalta did that to me. Love Phillipa

Definitely ask your PDoc about it, though. It could be any of them, it seems--
Anything I say is just my predisposition, based on my reactions--so your doctor is the one who can say--
However, it might be worth considering stopping the seroquel, just to be sure it isn't that. Your dose of seroquel is low, so it's not so likely, but I would just be on the safe side. Again, after checking with your doctor.

I lowered Cymbalta from 90 to 60 and, VOILA, the twitches have diminished almost totally!
This is the end of the thread.
