A Tolerance-Avoiding Rotating Augment Use Plan

Posted by Ron non on April 7, 2006, at 13:44:11

I’m still looking for suggestions for AD augments to fit into this rotating schedule I’m trying to work. I need at least one more than the two good ones, Neurontin and Adderall, I’ve found thus far. How its working is when I add Neurontin with my daily SSRI, after not having taking it for a few days, I go from being less depressed to close to energized and hopeful. Similarly when I take a smidgen of Adderall, after not having taken it for a couple days, I get a positive lift 2 to 3 times better than just the AD alone. But then on the third day I don’t have anything correspondingly good to take to enhance the basic anti depressant.

It might need to be something that works quickly and mostly wears off in the same day or so. I thought surely there are some good candidates out there – like drugs that work well at first but then fizzle out or turn weird, that might work in this context because tolerance is being avoided by 3 or 4 days rest between each use. Thanks Ron n.

You could try a dopamine receptor agonist like pramipexole (Mirapex), ropinirole (Requip), or cabergoline (Dostinex).

Good luck.

I would certainly like some other drugs that are primarilly dopamine stimulating in my augment mix, but don’t you have to take most of those dopamine agonists for several weeks before feeling any effect? I don’t know how I could jump on and off to avoid tolerance with anything that took that long to kick in. Thanks, Ron n

In my experience, the effect occurs within a day or two, if not sooner. I used bromocriptine. These drugs are like fake dopamine. They stimulate the DA receptor directly.
