Cytomel for depression and blood tests

Posted by Forte562 on April 1, 2006, at 13:17:54

I am taking Cytomel (T3) as augmentation for my antidepressant. When I fast for a blood tests (14 hours of fasting required for the blood panel), what thyroid level might be affected by this? Also, are you ever supposed to take the Cytomel pill right before the blood test?

Thanks.

Your T3 level and your TSH (Thyroid Stimulating hormone). You are not to take the Cytomel the day of the blood test.
