I read some peoples' posts on itchy scalp, from 2003 and before. Have any of the males experienced any unusual hair loss too? I'm not sure if it's Strattera or not, but I've been on the max dose for a couple of years and I still have itchy scalp, that I know is Strattera. Itchy scalp is bad enough, but this sucks. I have quit
Strattera for a couple of months with no withdrawl issues, but returned when my wife thought my ADHD was again out of control. Should I quit again and see what happens or just cut the dose in half and see what happens?

hair loss can result from pretty much **any** medication. With the SSRIs and other milder psych meds, it may not be that common or pronounced (although it can be). WIth more hardcore meds (ex: depakote, lithium, high-dose stimulants), the hair loss can be quite pronounced.
If you've had problems on Straterra, you might want to try another approach--maybe a reduced dose of straterra, plus low-dose stimulant (although those can also cause hair loss). With depakote, some people find multi-vitamins and specific supplements helpful (ex: zince, selenium) in some cases. That might or might not help with your situation. You could also try a non-chemical approach to ADHD, like "awareness training," which helps some people (you could also medicate for now, and then taper during non-chemical treament..you have lots of options!). Anyway, good luck.

Not that it pertains to you directly, but I definitely experienced a good amount of hair loss on Prozac 20 mg. I am down to 5 mgs a day and I'm noticing my hair getting fuller already. Also, I have heard from people that they believed fish oil was thickening their hair as well. Something worth thinking about if it can be confirmed on a more "clinical" level or if anyone else has experienced this effect on omega 3's.
