I had a surgery last nigth. To treat my pain
Doctor gave me morphine. I feel very very very
depressed. I am out of the hospital rigth now
I was 3 days on 12.5mgs of Paxil CR but I dont
know if this sensation is because of the Paxil
or because of the painkillers.
Im crying very strong , do you think
is the Paxil or the Morphine. Should I stop
paxil for a couple of days?

Hi! Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad. I was recently on morphine for the first time after I injured by back. It made me very emotional, weepy, horribly constipated and itchy all over. I couldn't tolerate it so I stopped and got another med from my doc. I am now taking vicodin and an anti-inflammatory drug and they are working well enough for me to never want to take morphine again - LOL. I suggest you stay on your AD and try to get another med for your pain, perhaps fentanyl (sp?) patches or Norco (a stronger form of vicodin). Call your doc asap to see what he/she can do for you. Tepi it all seems to be coming at you at once! What type of surgery did you have? And why out of the hospital so early? And I wouldn't stop the paxil if it is helping you. Love Phillipa

I have and old broken bone in my rigth leg.
Im gonna be on bed during 6 weeks. Im already
on crutches. My leg is hurting so much.
Im off morfine.
Why all this together, no Master degree, Lost
the woman of my life, left Nardil and feeling
bad, now my leg. What a bad year omg

Hi Tepi
You can stop the morphine and get a different pain medication instead. Has your doctor prescribed a replacement?

I am not taking the morphine anymore. I was really bad. Im taking some paracetamol instead . It´s ok my leg doesn´t hurt anymore. In on my sixt day on 12.5mg of Paxil. Let´s see what this drug can do for me. Next monday Im seeing my Pdoc. Im gonna talk to him about abilify. I feel calm in this moment, Im with my family. I hope to be ok on cristhmas nigth, I dont want to see my family worried about me. Yesterday my ex-girl came to visit me at my house. We saw a movie. I love her. I want to be ok for her.Merry christmas !

I hope it's helping :-) Paracetamol rarely causes side effects at the *recommended dose* - it's very safe. You can take up to 1000mg every four hours. Don't take more than 4000mg in 24 hours though, it's dangerous in overdose!

12.5mg is a good dose to start on. After a couple of weeks, you can increase to 25mg (if necessary). Paxil was helpful for my anxiety. My mum has been on Paxil 20mg for a few years, she has always found it helpful for her anxiety.

PS. Remember that you can't take Nardil while you're on Paxil, it could be fatal. If you stop Paxil, you'll need to wait at least 2 weeks before restarting Nardil.
