I just realized how dim my vision is. I am only 21. I can see things clearly but it is just so dark. Anyone have this or know what it may be related to.
I remember things being brighter.

> LinkadgeYes, I have experienced this a couple times - unfortunately they were both during extreme breakdowns. My vision had the overall feel of being darker than usual. It was not a fun feeling. I figured it was a "photophobic" phenomenon which I think I heard about on here, but maybe it's something else.

> LinkadgeHey Link, I kind of know what you are referring to. I have a fairly good amount of de-realization with my dep . and Anx. But I do notice at times if not a lot of the time my visual accuity is not as good as it once was. I have a small inkling that it has to do with the whold depressive schemata. and the three main catacholamines. that make our vision seem less than optimal. I wish I knew what to tell you, I have just learned to somewhat -adapt and hope for the day when it is better. I will also say this. When I am not as stressed and anxious and I am more rested. It abates even if it is just a little or temporary!

Sebastian, you're so funny. Link, this is something that happens to people as they get older, usually much older than you, for me since age 50 I think. No doubt something to do with rods and cones clapping out/oxidative stress etc. I hope that it's not a sign of some long term damage, I have no reason to say it is, but this would be along the lines you are thinking?

I was just wondering about why my vision was so dim. I remember that AD's brightened my vision, but it was abnormal. Like the few times I smoked pot, it made things really bright. Now the world just looks like dirt, and I can't seem to see very far.

Some things brighten your vision, or make it more sharp. Vinpocetine, deprenyl and Hydergine, some or all of them do, or at least everything seems clearer and sharper. I suppose that's acuity.

> LinkadgeHi Link,
I've noticed that while taking Nardil my presbyopia is much worse. I also seem to need a large amount of light to read comfortably. I don't notice things being darker, but I know the meds have affected my vision.
