I'm on Wellbutrin SR 225mg. I get a very dry mouth and it does taste a little "coppery". I drink hot tea or cold sugar-free drinks and chew gum. Since I take the med in the am only, that side effect is mostly gone by afternoon.

> Any suggestions other than brushing 10x a day, mouthwash or gum..lol It is very *icky* ...Prescribing Information lists "taste perversion" at 300mg 2% and 400mg 4% in placebo trials. I never had that effect but its conceivable.
The description is also:
"Bupropion hydrochloride powder is white, crystalline, and highly soluble in
water. It has a bitter taste and produces the sensation of local anesthesia on the oral mucosa."I suppose if the pill broke open slightly you might get some odd taste but thats unlikely considering the coating for SR.
Who knows ?

>Yup! The stuff can taste pretty bad. I take my XL with the pills split in half. If I don't swallow correctly and quick enough, my mouth gets a little taste of where I split the pill. Not something I would ever eat! ;-) Luckily, that doesn't happen very often.
