I live in Australia and I'm on Efexor XR, I know, it's spelt differently here! Anyway I suffer from Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) which I'm sure you have all heard of. I take Valium for my nerves and was taking Mogadon (powerful hypnotic and a benzo) for sleep. My pdoc changed my sleep med to Imovane which I have only take once because I had the most horrendous nightmares and hallucinations all night long that I nearly called a cab and went to hospital, it was a very scary experience. Now my problem is that neither Mogadon or Imovane is available in the states so I'm calling on anyone outside of the US for feedback. My dreams on mogadon and efexor were extremely vivid and I was getting confused because I thought that my dreams had really happened. They were not nightmares but conversations, situations and day to day things like I went shopping and bought soap and toothpaste. I live with my sister and she will come out of the bathroom and say we are out of soap and I'll say no, I got some yesterday and she will walk me into the bathroom and say have a look you bloody idiot there is no soap. Now I could deal with that but after taking Imovane once I still feel really messed up 3 days later. Also I reduced my efexor xr from 150mg to 75mg about 2 weeks ago. I think I would have suffered side effects from that well before this happened. Can anyone out there give me some feedback because I feel like I'm going to lose it. Thanks OXOX

i have also been diagnosed with GAD. i think i have taken every med in the book. it has taken me 8 years, but i finally found a med that really helped: seroquel. ask your doc about it, in 25mg/doses. you will sleep like a king on it.
its soooooo important to get good sleep. if you do not, it exxagerates all of our other issues X 10. good sleep is like the first step of the day. you have to get it started on the right foot.

I have seroquel, but I can't take it if I have to work the next day. It just totally bombs me out and I can't function at all even on really low doses. Thanks for your input though, much appreciated
