It seems like a lot of people here have been on the same dosage of Klonopin for very long periods of time. (Linkadge has been the only poster so far that I've read about who developed tolerance to it quickly.)
Has anyone here developed tolerance to other benzos fairly quickly but was able to stay on Klonopin indefinitely? Or does anyone have any thoughts on this topic in general?

hey! In my experience, it seems like the same rule that applied to the old-school barbiturates applies to the benzos: fast-acting, short-lived medications (xanax, ativan) have more problems with tolerance/dependence/problems between doses associated with them than do longer-acting benzos that may have a bit slower onset of action (klonopin, tranxene, librium). That said, tolerance in general isn't a *huge* problem with benzos, assuming they're being RX'd at sufficient doses...neither dose escalation nor tolerance are all that common in long-term use.
