I am taking 2.5 mg Abilify (for about 1 month now) and think it is helping, except for my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome which is a functional syndrome - not an illness- caused by the rhythm of the involuntary muscles in intestines getting out whack, which in turn causes pain and abdominal bloating). Low dose SSRIs have worked in the past. Does anyone know if prozac can work with abilify; IOW, will prozac be enhanced in the blood stream with in combination with abilify?

Hi!
Celexa and Lexapro are easy to combine with other drugs because they don't generally interact. Generic citalopram is cheapest and should work well.

Always good to hear from you Ed - isn't your chem final coming up real soon? Anyway, thanks for your input - I will talk to my pdoc about it - and go with the one that causes the least amount of weight gain.

Hi!
They both cause weight gain in some patients. Go with generic citalopram, it's cheaper!

low dose naltrexone has been shown to stop and basically cure IBS. There is a company finishing the final phase 3 trials now for this , but low dose naltrexone can be compounded easily, its being used for several autoimmune disorders.

Lunesta, do you know if it causes an interaction with abilify? Do you have more more information about naltrexdone? Thanks.

Thanks, Lunesta...I'm going to mention this to my pdoc. BTW, why are you taking it? Do you take it with anything else? Can you take a low dose long term? How is it on weight gain? Does it activate you or does it relax you?
Thanks for any personal info you feel like sharing with me!> it is regarded as generally safe with everything except narcotic painkillers but i do not have suffcient information to specifically prove its safe with ablify, i very mush believe it is though.

oNe other thing, I take ativan as needed, doesn't sound like naltraxone would be contraindicated, but I will talk to my pdoc about it...

I take 80 mg. Prozac and 10 mg. Abilify. I'm not getting any results, though.
