Hi, I'm hoping someone out there with drug knowledge will be able to help me with this. I had been taking 600 mg carbamazepine and my p-doc reduced the dosage to 400 mg. Since then I have been having vivid dreams, nightmares, and occasional insomnia. Prior to this I never remembered my dreams, now I'm at a point where I sometimes have trouble distinguishing between dream state and reality (I was mad at my husband for the better part of a morning until I realized we never had the conversation I was mad at him over!).
Told the p-doc and his solution was to bump the dosage up to 500 mg. But I don't want to go back up, I really want to reduce the amount of mood stabilizers I'm taking. Does anyone know if this is the kind of thing that will go away, and if I should just "tough it out"?
If it's relevant... I'm also on Depakote (1500 mg) and buproprion (400 mg). I take the buproprion in the morning/ early afternoon so I don't think that's what's causing this. Thanks for any help!
This is the end of the thread.
