I am taking Wellbutrin and Effexor during the day. I have trouble sleeping, so the doc said it was ok to take Trazodone to sleep. He did express concern that I wasn't taking a mood stabilizer. 25mg of Serquel made me sleepy for 24 hours!
With these meds should I be taking a mood stabilizer? Drop the Trazodone? What MS should I take that won't make me fatter than I am? Topamax hurt my kidneys. Zonegran made me pee all day.
I don't know what to do.

Hi Trish. Why does your doctor think you need a mood-stabilizer? Are you or any member of your family bipolar? How are you feeling at the moment?

Sebastian, You like geodon? No eye blinking like Jeroen? Please let me know as my daughter-in-law was on it and now has eye blinking. Thanks Phillipa

My father was bipolar - he never stayed on meds. I think my doc is concerned about me being on 2 (or actually 3) meds with no mood stabilizer. Actually, I am afraid of getting manic, but I don't think it will happen. The Effexor makes me sleepy and the Wellbutrin makes me hyper, so the two even each other out. Actually, the Effexor makes me a little too sleepy, but nothing bothers me - at all. So I don't think I need a mood stabilizer. I don't think I could get manic if I had to. I'm only taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL and 75mg of Effexor. The Effexor is strong stuff.

Very funny! Seriously Jeroen has been posting since August that geodon is poison and caused TD and eye blinking. Fondly, Phillipa

Since you're not manic...perhaps a low dose of Depakote would not cause any side effects. However...If I was your doc I wouldn't treat symptoms I only expect to possibly occur.

Yes I know he has. But! I think geodon is the best thing yet. No side effects. Makes a great substitute for zyprexa. I've been taking it since December 2004.

Just got another E-mail from my daughter-in-law. She was taking 60mg of geodon once a day. The pdoc wanted her to take it twice a day. She said no way. Now that she is off of it she really feels bad. She says it's like retarded. When she was on it she said she would fall asleep in the midle of a sentence. She says she feels sick and is seeing her GP Saturday. She also takes 4mg of klonopin, Cymbalta 60mg, 4mg of xanax. She drinks at times and smokes pot at times. And her eyes are blinking! Is this a high dose of geodon and will these symptoms go away. Thought of starting a Thread but since one was going on geodon already thought I'd ask. Thanks Phillipa

60 mg is a high dose. A low dose would be 20 mg two times a day. I've not noticed any change in the way my eyes blink. Eyes blink maybe she just notices it more now. And it is posible that the eyes would blink less on low dose geodon, she would be sedated, but just a little bit.
This is the end of the thread.
