Anyone have any idea if Moclobemide can be taken with L-Deprenyl?
Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,
Interesting combo. What do you want to combat by this? Selegiline at high dose is similar to tranylcypromine. Moclobemide does not seem to have any effects, but together it may work. If you try you will probably be the first one on the babble.

Yes, you can combine them. I've been doing it for 2 weeks. This morning 2mg deprenyl sublingual, 75mg moclobemide. Anymore of either, particularly the moclobemide, and I'll have trouble sleeping. I started on 150mg am and found it agitating, next day 75 mg am and same, so I went to 37.5. I don't agree that it does nothing. No good for social phobia. the Pubmed things I read suggested that it was of limited use in those with preexisting alcohol and benzo problems. (I have both, and an opiate one as well). Perhaps that just means it is somewhat anxiogenic. I've been trying to slip under that. I also take 400mg/d SAMe, which may affect things.

Well then Will, you perhaps can compare Parnate to moclobemide. Is Parnate as stimulating as moclobemide? As agitating? Did you ever find moclobemide agitating? How much moclobemide did you take? Does Parnate have a more mood brightening effect? Is Parnate more relaxed? (I sure as hell hope so.) etc etc......Any comparisons greatly appreciated. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Hi Phillipa
moclobemide/moclimide is Mannerix/Aurorix. That's what you wanted to know?

> DeclanTheres no comparison per say, meaning moclimide is in no way effective enough to replace parnate.HOWEVER in between parnate doses i was taking moclmide, things i noticed were
- I began to take less parnate
- I dident find myself sometimes *waiting* for that next parnate dose
- Parnates overall effectivness was enhancedA few things to note were i spaced my parnate doses out a little further so it would not interact with moclimide. Also although moclmide worked well in conjunction,i went through a period where my pharmacy had trouble getting parnate and it was half a week, and moclimide nor anything i have here was able to hold me over and avoid a withdrawal syndrome,so alone booo for moclimide, however i think its a good augmentation prob to a lot of cocktails.
I also found a good alternative in liquid deprenyl, like moclimide i used it between parnate doses, alone no,however there is a combo that works quite nice, its liqid deptenyl a moderate dose with the addition of CHEWING,not smoking mary jane. The two work well.

Hi again Willy
So moclobemide will not substitute at all for both (I assume) of the older MAOIs. But I'm interested in the difference of subjective feel for you between the two drugs. I find moclobemide activating but not comforting, if I can put it that way.Do you find Parnate, and Nardil too, you've taken that haven't you?, more comforting than moclobemide. Talking about comfort brings opioids to mind. I guess I'm seeking a measure of relief for a sense of internal distress, which has the feel of acute disappointment.
Anyone got any ideas???

> DeclanMoclimeide seemed to have a simple stimulating type of effect, which depending on ur situation could be both a good up lift or for some agitating.
It kinda sorts reseambles a high dose of SamE,which is sorta just stimuating,so no it dident seem to provide any overall reliaf alone.
Bear in mind however i never came close to moclimide dosages that are recomended when using it alone,i remeber reading those are pretty high doses.
Parnate seems much more therputic,as for nardil i cant comment on it,i had such a terrable run on it the first try that although i have a stock pile of it,i simply am too nervous to stop parnate and face the possability of falling into the depression i did on its first trial.
I have emails from individuals who both love nardil, and as well hate it.Analyzing all the emails throughly,i have to say my profile is more similiar to those who fail on nardil,so again im very hestitant to use it.But regardless both parnate and nardil hold a track record on any group, including a good one remedyfind.com that no one can deny, nor can place the others, molcimide or marplan with them.Nardil and parnate seem to be the gold standards, choosing one is the tricky part,i just dont see any other one including deprenyl carrying the same success stories nor have i had strong successes with them

willyee, I know we have corresponded before. Maybe you sent me an E-mail. Don't you live in VA Beach? If you do please contact me as your Babblemail is not on. Need to ask some questions about housing and job opportunities. Please include your E-mail address so I can ask some questions. I love your picture! Added it to my file. Fondly, Phillipa
