Yes; this happens when my mind is racing and won't stick to the task of reading. I can read several pages in a book and then realize that I haven't a clue about what I've just read. I think my mind is working on other thoughts and I'm not *really* reading. Very common for me, especially when I have a lot of stressors in my life.

I'm on this computer so much I feel like I'm reading like I'm typing. Kind of jerky motions. But I've found that to really understand something it takes 3 times to read something. Fondly, Phillipa

Yeah. I think I experience that. (Though I should probably re-read your post to make sure I understood it correctly. :))
Maddening, isn't it? Must be hard for you trying to study.

When not on the right meds (basically what I'm on now, heh), that is usually how I [try to] read. Keep in mind that before my illness was full-blown (around 21+), reading and writing were two things I prided myself on most.

Linkadge,
Yes I have that very problem because most of the time I have trouble concentrating.

Link, that happens to me when I am having a lot of trouble with anxiety. After your most recent doctor's visit, I'm not surprised that you're experiencing it. Dr EyeCandy was a big trigger for this sort of thing for me -- in fact, I still have a stack of books I can't seem to finish because I was reading them before an appointment with him...
All I can say is that I hope it eases for you soon. And that I'll be babblemailing you soon -- just overwhelmed myself just now, with my mouth feeling as though it's glued shut. When my mouth gets that feeling, I can't hardly write to anyone, either...

However it went away after I decided to stop the meds and realized that indeed the depression was gone.
