Effexor - some success and some not

Posted by Lynnd on April 28, 2005, at 13:39:37

I have been taking Effexor now for 1 year with quite a bit of success. My issue now though, my Dr. has me weaning off of the medicine and I am having withdrawals. They are fairly powerful withdrawals and now my communication with my husband is at a standstill! I am starting to go to bed at 7:30pm!! I feel like I am at my wits end and don't know what to do. I don't like the idea of staying on the medication, but I also can't stand the fact that I run around crying one minute and wanting to scream the next. Please help!!!

at the same time they are discontinuing Effexor with good results. Effexor can cause discomfort during tapering down because of it's short half-life in the body; Prozac has a much longer half-life and can help you through this! Talk to your doc about it asap! Good luck!
