Another article from Psychology Today, links early childhood use of Ritalin [and like drugs] to adult depression. Do you believe this? It also states that too many kids are Rx'd these drugs which I tend to believe. I believe that positive reenforcement of good behavior works better than yelling, spanking, etc. These children seem, to me, to keep testing and become disruptive. Fondly, Phillipa

mmmmm... Im off adderall, well im always in a bad mood, but to be civilized, im back to being disorganized and unstable, which i would say leads to some depression.
I took Ritilin 40mg when i was in the 5-8 grade, then switched to adderall. Indeed, Ritilin really bad on mood, than adderall even thought adderall did have its bad stuff.
Im not really an adult, late teen. So i dont know if i can really awnser this. But i did give some insight.
Peace...

Actually I am wondering how they checked it. There is a corelation between depression and ADHD, not necessarily Ritalin. Who knows that. Long term trial is needed here. Some others believe that Ritalin causes liver cancer.

"Links" is the operative word. It's only associative, which means they don't know if Ritalin CAUSES depression later in life. It could be that people with ADD are more prone to depression later in life or some other variable that is interacting with the two.
