I've had about 4 distinct swings in mood, energy,& brain function already today (it's 1:30 PM now). Several more minor swings. My ears are ringing almost constantly. I had one BP reading of 131/94.
Last night I had 2 episodes of vey strong palpitations, but each episode was only a couple of beats. (Felt like my heart jumped into my throat).
Can bipolar II cause that many swings in a day? Any ideas appreciated. I'm considering heading for the ER if something doesn't change for the better.

Bipolar can't 'cause' anything, because it is just a description of your behaviour, see?
Just like depression doesn't 'cause' you to be sad, rather it is (Partly) because you are sad so much that you are accurately described as being depressed.
There is such a thing as 'rapid cycling' bipolar to describe people who (you guessed it) cycle rapidly.
Can you do something to help relax you and level you out a bit?
Take a bath?
Go for a walk?
Something you enjoy?
Breathe deeply?

I'm considering heading for the ER if something doesn't change for the better.I read your post above, and you are only on 150mg of WB right? WB made my ears ring worse than any other med I've taken. It can raise your BP. Maybe an ER trip would be a good idea - you don't sound too agitated - just concerned - maybe go to ER and explain the ear ringing, mood switches, and the BP stuff and see what they say. I've had some ultradian episodes in the past and they are not fun. If you have got some clonazepam, that might help a great deal. It kind of sounds like antidepressant induced rapid cycling.. you may need to reduce or dx the WB and add an antimanic of some kind.

After breakfast I felt worse, and again after lunch. After both meals my ears started ringing --- then they stop after a few hours. I just had a small snack, and it's happening again. I have an appointment early Monday morning with my internist, but I don't think he'll have an explanation for these weird symptoms.

Have you changed your diet recently? The fact that you are experiencing problems after a meal gives me a strong impression that something may be acting funny with your blood sugar.Brian

I do know that at least the ringing in the ears--tinnitus--is a frequent side effect of Wellbutrin....

In regards to food causing it, I think it might be your blood sugar too. Low blood sugar can cause mood swings. Why don't you have it checked? Fondly, Phillipa

As a fellow Fibromyalgia comrade, your post rang a bell. Freak-a-zoid palpitations can scare the best of us, I know. I lived through a series of tests and three days on a Holter monitor, waiting to figure out what was wrong with my blood pump a few years ago.
My research (and my own personal experience) seems to show that many Fibromyalgia comrades have also been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse, which can cause the precise symptoms you describe.
How's your magnesium intake, for a start? Can't hurt...might help. Also, from what I read, it's definitely a good move for the mood swings and the tinnitus as well.
Here are some various links backing up what I said, 'cause I think you might appreciate things like that:

Thanks

I should know this. I'll do some checking tomorrow AM. Someone here probably knows. It was oral, not IV.
Thanks

in order to know for sure you would have to have tests done. But yes can be depression, and medication would help it.

What tests are you referring to?
