I take Cymbalta and Depakote for depression, OCD and social anxiety. I'm considering dropping the Depakote in favor of Neurontin, because I've been on it before and I did notice an improvement. I have a feeling it's the Depakote that's been causing me to sleep through most of the day. It was a very minor improvement (with the Neurontin), and rather than escalating the dose I decided to try something else. I know someone that takes it for SP that's on a ridiculously high dose, so maybe that is the answer...any comments?

hey! I did the neurontin thing a little while back. First I took it as a sleeping pill (900mgs/nightly), then I took 300mgs 3X daily for social phobia, generalized anxiety, etc. I took it to boost my klonopin (1.5-2mgs/daily) and propranolol (40-60mgs/daily). I was also taking 20mgs celexa, 1,200mgs Trileptal, Sonata or Ambien, and Abilify. It didn't help me at all, but some people swear by the stuff...I personally found that it made me feel stupid.

I tried Neurontin a few years back for SP (tried 300-600mg three times per day) with no benefit. I, too, felt a bit numb and dumbed down by it. It certainly helps with sleep, though, if that is a problem.
