I have been on Effexor XL for almost 5 years now. I was reading one of the postings from someone who had mentioned about the long term neurological effects of being on this medication. I have tried to research this with no luck. I also take Ultram-another seratonin reuptake inhibitor. I now have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, with no known origan other than "hereditary", and bilateral carpal and cubital tunnel. I feel this has been caused by taking both of these seratonin reuptake inhibitors but can't find any information to support it. Has anyone else had these problems? I want to get off of both of them but am scared of the rebound phenomenon....

Cymbalta has been approved for peripheral neuropathy. I took this med, but it did nothing for my anxiety and depression. I did notice that I didn't have as many aches and pains while on it.Fondly, Phillipa
