So, once again I am trying to get off meds and at 1 month of lowering to 5 mg of lexapro, the depression is creeping back. Does this mean it will stay, or do peoples brains need a lot of time to recover, like maybe a year or more? Experiences................

hey-- i don't know whether it's depression returning or whether it's rebound from lowering the lexapro. i had the same thing when i tapered off 50mg of zoloft. i got so depressed so fast and ended up having to go back on the med. i hope that you can get off it if that's what you wish, but i thinkn it's natural to feel discomfort and mood changes during the process. i'm glad you're tapering off, though. when i tried to get off a handful of my meds once, including effexor, i crashed and burned. please be safe.
