provigil is just as bad as cocaine as far as the withdrawal is concerned. I was an addict for 4 years and i should know.
These f*cking doctors are complete morons. Let them try and come off this sh*t. Plus i was given this stuff as therapy FOR COCAINE USE.

That's like my old pdoc who Rx'd chloral hydrate for sleep because I had been drinking nightly to sleep. He is now under investigation as I posted in a previous Thread, for distribution of controlled substances, and medical fraud. And I am stuck trying to detox and sleep from all the meds he rx'd me. Fondly, Phillipa

I had a terrible time with Provigil as well. I wanted to take more and more. However, I do believe some people are less likely to become addicted to it. I think that people who have already abused stimulants should NOT be prescribed Provigil, because it is almost impossible to take a low dose of it and stop using it. Maybe it wakes up the addiction center in our brain. I absolutely became suicidal the day after going off Provigil.

There are other screwed up aspects of provigal. When you start needing a higher dose which in my case was after 1 month, instead of becoming more alert on the goddam thing you become very zombie like. I didnt know what was wrong with me, I could not think clearly and was very paranoid about doing or saying anything. Now excuse me for asking ..but isnt that what this f*cking drug is designed to help you with..ie.. thinking f*cking clearly???
Here is what my recommendation consists of: have the doctors that prescribe provigil {like its the second coming of prozac} switch places with the monkeys that were given this drug in such huge doses. Me Id bet on the chimps since they would be 7 point favorites anyway!!!Catch my drift?

I had the unique experience of watching my pdoc pop one right in front of me the same visit he told me I had to stop taking it. In this case it works so well for him at 100 mg he doesn't believe I need to take 300 mg to feel anything from it. I would have been more upset if it had actually worked consistently for me.
