Pfizer Gets FDA Approval for Nerve Pain Drug
NEW YORK (Reuters) Jan 03 - Pfizer Inc. said Friday it received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its drug Lyrica (pregabalin) to treat the two most common types of neuropathic pain.
The pharmaceutical company said Lyrica is the first FDA-approved treatment for neuropathic pain that is caused by nerve damage that can result from diabetes or shingles.

It was also given a controlled substance label. Based on my experience, I know why...... (GHB-like)

Lunesta,
Please explain what you mean about how you felt on pregabalin in more detail. Thank you.

I posted an article from the Wall Street Journal on this topic a few weeks ago when this story broke. Though most other news sources bought into the Pfizer hype that the approval was a big success for Pfizer, the WSJ nailed the story in reporting that getting this controlled substance label was actually a big defeat for Pfizer and their share price declined on the Lyrica news.

I just wanted to say that the effect of Lyrica is NO WAY like what I have read about GHB experiences. For me. NO euphoria. NO prosocial effect or whatsoever.
Just reduces anixiety. Reduces the negative effect of stress on my contidion....Sorry guys, I cant second this
bye bye

Since it has been given a controlled substance label, does this mean it is an addicting drug?
Is it similar to benzos in that respect?
This is the end of the thread.
