Can I continue to use my Xanax as needed when I am taking Tylenol 3s?

Should be okay, but you need to consider the additive effects of the two drugs. This isn't an interaction, precisely, but both are depressant in their effects.

There is a possible liver interaction, but its effects might be to increase the analgesic and psychoactive effects of the codeine. Again, this may cause an additive drug effect.

You'd be wise to have someone around the first time you try the combo.

Thanks Larry. I may not have to use any Xanax, but just wanted to be aware of the possible effects if it became absolutely necessary to do so. I don't find the Tylenol 3s particularly sedative anyways, but they sure help with the pain.

Take care, and Happy New Year to you!

Thanks for the advice! Hopefully I won't have to use any Xanax for a few days.

Take care.
