I've been on 10mg Adderall XL for about two weeks now. For the two months before that I was on ritalin, 5mg, 3 times a day. I switched so I wouldn't have to take a med so many times and because I've heard better results from adderall. Problem is the last week, I've been so tired, having problems getting up in the mornings and staying awake during the day. I like the adderall though b/c I'm not experiecing the hot flashes and ups and downs I was on ritalin. Could this sleepiness be a sign that I need a higher dose? I know the dose I'm on now is fairly low. I don't know if I should just give it more time or talk to my doc now about increasing the dose? any suggestions?

No, not on other meds. I take the adderall around 7:00a.m. when I get up.

Believe it or not, Adderall makes me sleepy. Doc thought i was crazy, but switched me to Provigil. much better. although none of them, adderall, ritalin, or provigil helps me focus. i still fill like i am always "sidetracked" with too much juggling.

Adderall in too low of a dose has been known to cause sleepyness and even worsen ADD symptoms, that's why it can take a few weeks to find the right dosage for you. I started out at 10mg it I felt sleepy, went up to 20mg and it was working but I would hyperfocus and have difficulty multitasking, I'm on 30mg XR now and it works great. Sometimes more is better.
