Nemifitide?

Posted by denise1904 on November 26, 2004, at 8:21:11

Hi,

Does anyone know what's happened to Nemifitide trials, the last time I checked about a year ago, they'd stopped the trials because it was toxic to beagles. I then rang the drug company (can't remember which one it turned out to be in the end) and the man told me that they were still hoping to conduct more human trials on it.

I keep checking to see if there are any updates on it on the web and can find nothing, the pharmaceutical site still hastn't been updated and I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything???

Poor beagles. :-(

I think the company, Innpharma, has placed all of its eggs in one basket with this drug. They won't be so quick to give up on it.

Scott,

That's good news, I'll continue to keep my eye out on it then. I might even buy some shares in the company, you never know if this drug works like they it does.

:-) About the beagles, I do actually feel sorry for all of the animals they test on, horrible to think they actually subject some of these animals to feeling the same way we feel just so they can set about seeing how to reverse the feelings.

It is back in phase II trials according to neurotransmitter.net. This is a set back, as before it was listed as phase II/phase III. This drug won't be out for quite some time, considering how long it takes for drugs to just get through the final phase III. :( :(
