my short term memory is completely shot since being depressed........it's the meds too that play a role in this. As for long term memories...........obviously their pretty shot also because I had no short term memory at the time......this goes back 13 or so years. As for memories of pre-depression - their clear as a bell. Very strange indeed......don't really know if it's the depression alone or the meds along with it that really compound it and make it worse. Depression itself taints short term memory because of preoccupation I presume........but the meds I also think play some role in it.

Adios!!!!!!!

I mean both short and long-term memory. It's all just a blur to me. I think some medications do worsen my memory, but even-drug free I can't remember a damn thing.

I read an interesting theory on depression once that seems sort of related. The theory (as I remember it!) is that depressed people have disrupted sleep and you process memories in your sleep and thus depressed people have screwed up memories and screwed up memories can contribute to depression (the theory made a lot of sense to me at the time, so I think I must be mistating it).
