I've been depressed now for a while. I started Lamictal recently. However I'm on a very very slow-starting regimine. (I'm starting at 1/2 25mg every other day the first week, then 1/2 25mg every day for one week, then 25mg every day for a week. Then after all that I have another appt. to update.
I also recently started Adderall XR which seems to help my depression quite a bit. I take 60mg (2 30's) around 7AM before work, and up until noon give or take, I feel great...very motivated and uplifted. Then as that begins to wear off my mood drops....and continues to do so. I have another afternoon dose (of short acting Adderall) of 10mg that I try and hold off until 3 to take because of the XR still somewhat in my system. After taking this, my mood seems to rise somewhat again, although not QUITE so much, but it definitly helps again.
Is there a better way I can schedule my dosing and/or amounts to eliminate my 12pm to 3pm depressive state?
thanks

Increasing the lamictal will probably help. You are still on a very low dose of it, you may end up going as high as 300 mg a day - so that may really help with things.

Ok...I suppose I'll just wait it out. Lamictal seems to have a good success rate...knock on wood. But nobody with any suggestions for new dosing for the adderall in the meantime?
thanks

> thanksJust a thought, but I've read about people who start up Lamictal dosing bid, who have "crashes" beefore their next Lamictal dose. Could be that you may be having more of a Lamictal "crash" than an Adderall crash - if you started the two about the same time. Maybe when you get a steadier dose of Lamictal in your system that will settle down. OTOH, maybe 60mg of XR is too *much* at once-maybe take 30mg XR AM, then 30mgXR at noon?
