Lexapro-Week 2 update

Posted by mattsit on November 2, 2004, at 11:51:20

2 Weeks in, I feel a lot more at ease. The anxious thoughts about the future, my abilities to do anything productive, etc are getting more managable. The thoughts still come, but they dont take over.

The only side effects I'm expierencing are going to bed at 8:00 PM....I get home from work at 7 and am only up another hour before goign to bed, and doing it all over again at 6:00 am. The other side effect is the sexual stuff...I have little interest, and cannot even get close to finishing that job!

Mattsit,

Glad to hear things are starting to level off for you. The first few weeks on Lex are no fun, but it does get better.

As for being extra wiped out at the end of the day, I can say that you really need to make sure you are getting your rest during this time. Are you sleeping soundly? Lex initially made me all wired at night and I was given Seroquel to help me sleep and it works miracles. I have three small kids and when they are up at night I can get back to sleep with zero difficulty. Just get me horizontal on that stuff and I go to sleep.
I sleep great now, a solid 8 hrs a day (10P-6A).

As for the sexual stuff, I am experiencing the same thing. Just keep at it and you may find that it gets easier with practice, really.

Hang in there...

Wildman

Normal reactions. Almost all of the people here at PB have had that effect at one time or another. It will lessen in time, of that you can be sure. However, it may or may not diminish completely. Wellbutrin or Selegiline are effective treatmements for many people in regards to incresing the libido.

Hope that helps you, best wishes

Justin
