Lexapro hasn't worked out for me. I've really tried for the past 5 months, but I still get that rush (hypomania/dizziness/whateveryouwannacallit) about 5 hours after I take it. It happens EVERY DAY! Plus, I still wake up with morning anxiety (ugh!). And, I'm only taking 5mg, not even what is considered a therapeutic dose. I don't dare raise it because of the SE's I mentioned above.
So I'm thinking about going back to CELEXA. Anyone else? If you made the switch, did you taper off of Lex, or just switch over the same day? What were the differences you noticed between Lexapro and Celexa? Anyone else particularly sensitive to Lexapro?

Keko,
I am currently switching back, from 20mgs lex to 30mgs celexa. On day eight, I will say I have been sleeping better, waking better, and have less pain--I have fibromyalgia, and haven't been as achy. Have been, on the whole, in a better mood than the last few weeks of lex. I would be inclined to say that I am romanticizing this, but I spent the weekend with my dreaded in-laws and didn't get too flapped. Usually they make me a basket-case. Yet it has made me dreadfullly nauseated a couple of times and I have had a headache taht has verged on migraine for most oof those days. There ARE some people who have more success with Celexa, you may be one of them. I think I might be.Good luck and keep us posted.

I forgot to mention that I went from 20mgs of lex on Tuesday to 30mgs on Wednesday. You do not need to taper off and build back up.

I do fine on Lex, but I know someone who had the same exact experience you did and their pdoc recommended the switch to Celexa. I haven't spoke to this person about it since then, but it sounds very similar to your situation, so you're definitley not the only one.

Edna Babish here, just wondering what the word is for those of you who have switched back to celexa. I'm doing fine, although I have had a couple headaches at bedtime. Not feeling as drowsy, achy, sleepy as I was. Let me know what is going on with any of you other switchers-back.
This is the end of the thread.
