yet another effexor effect? Please advise...

Posted by ants on October 22, 2004, at 12:48:17

I've been on 75mg Effexor XR about a month now. Here's my new wierd thing. I have this odd feeling in my head-not the "shock" that people talk about, but more like a constant tense-ness or on edge feeling, like I am about to have a "shock" but it won't go over the edge. I almost wish it would so it could "relax". I have had the shock thing once or twice early in the morning as it is wearing off before i take my next dose and I was having this "on edge" fgeeling right before I took my next dose, but now it is staying with me all day. I don't feel anxious in the rest of my body, but my brain really feels on edge and "pressured".

Any ideas or similar situations? My only thought is that maybe I am getting used to it so I need more? I really don't want to start on that path!

thanks for your input!

I take 187.5 mg Effexor XR and I have quite strong anxiety as well that I have never really had before. The strange thing is it comes and goes. I also take Ritalin and have been trying to determine if it is really Ritalin that causes the anxiety, but it seems to calm me down really.

I have been taking Effexor 2 years now and the anxiety comes and goes, but it makes me think I need a different solution. Has anyone else had these experiences?
