Hello. I just suspect that the Lexapro is making me like sleeping all day long. It's hard to get up in the morning, and I feel sleepy in the afternoon.
Anyone has had the same experience ?!
Kristel.

When I first started Lex about 10 months ago, I found that it made me somewhat wired and edgy. After a few weeks, that went away, leaving an enhanced mild hypomania which kept me from sleeping well. The pdoc gave me Seroquel for sleep and it's worked great.
Lately, I've noticed with the shorter days, that I have been getting really run down late in the afternoon and could nod off. I upped my dosage of Lex from 10mg to 15mg and after three days I must say it's helping.
How well do you sleep? Are you getting enough restful sleep? Make sure you are really resting enough, as I find that if I shortchange my sleep for a few nights in a row (easy to do with three little kids at home) I will be totally shot, energy-wise. Really concentrate on getting enough rest, and see if your energy comes back.
How long have you been on the Lex?

I sleep well. I sleep for 8 to 9 hours but still want to sleep more. I been on it for 2 weeks. I can't tolerate it anymore. I stopped taking it today, I don't need it anyhow (I mean I think it wont help my problem).

When I first started taking it, I was very sleepy. After about a week or so, it seemed to go away and I don't get sleepy on it anymore. If you just started taking it, you might want to give it a little time. If you've been taking it for a while, maybe something else would work better.Good luck! I couldn't stand getting the sleepies at work.

then again paxil, celexa, and now zoloft give me the sleepies too. Although on Zoloft it is definitely less of an issue even at high doses.

> Kristel.Absolutely. I had to quit after 9 weeks. Even with Provigil, I couldn't keep myself awake in the afternoons. Plus it didn't help me with depression.

Yes at first, but it did go away, I actually find Lex to be *energizing* once I get involved w/projects (at home or at work). Drank COFFEE to fight it.~~~8|8
