Hello. I am obviously doing some research about my problems. I am seeing a T now (2nd visit tomorrow) and have been seeing my pdoc for years. I have been diagnosed with different things by different pdocs. Dysthymic disorder and panic disorder. But, when I think about my symptoms I wonder if I am BP2...
My history:
Depression since i can remember...
social phobia since i can remember.
panic attacks since mid 20's
some cycling, like, i will be happy one day and sad the next. Or happy for months and then go into major depression for a month ect..I take anti-depressants and anxiety meds, plus lamictal. But I still have these episodes of happy/sad. My husband notices them all the time. He is always asking how i feel each day. Does this sound familiar to anyone??? Am I BP?
Thanks
sandy

Don't think this is the right place to get a diagnosis. Only a qualified person who has a hard earned degree and years of experience can decide that.

Have you raised your concern about BPII with your pdoc and your therapist? In my opinion, they would be best equipped to tell you if you are biopolar. Also, I know this may sound stupid, but have you had your blood checked lately? Things like diabetes, hypoglycemia, hypo- or hyperthydroidism, hormonal imbalance, etc. can wreak havoc on our moods (causing frequent mood swings) and anxiety levels.
Hope you get some answers soon. Take good care.
