Hi,
Can anybody answer please. I have found both sulpiride and amisulpiride to be quite effective for my negative thinking loops. Sulpiride does the job better than high doses of either klonopin or xanax. Constant worrying is not something benzos address, but sulpiride does this very very effectively. Besides they are marginally effective for my anhedonia too. But the problem is they make my sleep much deeper and make me in a drugged(somnolent)state. I get up every morning half asleep . If I sleep more than 8 hours, this somnolence gets away, but my present job situation won't allow me to do this. Can anybody tell me are the new atyptical antipsychotics have the same property of these two medications without this side effect. I have heard of a lot like Risperdal, Seroquel, Geodon. Can these be compared with either sulpiride or amisulpiride? Please answer.
PLS

Sorry I can't be much of a help with the Amisulpride. I do take Geodon and I started dealing with heavy sedation about 2 months into dosing. No matter how much I sleep I still even wake up in the morning tired and it lasts all day. The Geodon does wonders for my confusion, disorganized thought, and paranoia though. I am now trying to find something that will wake me up.
I am interested in Amisulpride. Do you live in the U.S.? If you do how do you go about getting it? I see alot of people on this board taking it. I thought it was mainly a Euro drug. In what areas does it help you? Thanks
Tom

Hi
I am not in USA.
I have tried Sulpiride, because amisulpiride is not available here. I know both drugs have similar efficacy and side effect profiles though Amisulpiride is prefered by some physicians because of it's friendliness with liver.
Sulpiride works great for my anxiety without major side effects besides the one I mentioned earlier in my post(somnolence). It controls negative thinking, constant worrying and paranoid feelings. I feel like cured while I am on it. Benzos calms me but still remind me, I have something yet to come from within once after this blockade is gone. Sulpiride is not like that. It tells me, there is nothing wrong with you and so and so..Hope this helps.
