Hello, i was taking paxil and had major sexual side effects. I didnt even want to have Org****, but i have switched to prozac (3 wks now) and all the sudden, boom, no side effects. Hopefully this will stay this way. But, has anyone taken prozac and had minimal sexual side effects? (by the way, Im a woman)....

I'm male and had horible sexual side effects from Paxil, but is was a great med for me.
Anyway on the Prozac, it made me very prosexual, I mean my girlfriend was all smiles. It's weird when I read about people having sexual dysfuntion with Prozac because for me, it made me a horn dog. On the other hand, it doesn't work near as good for me with anxiety symptoms as the Paxil did and if I wasn't in a relationship I would probably go back to Paxil.
My pdoc said she may have me take 10mg of Paxil with 10mg Prozac and see how it works. I never need to take more than 20mg of either so it may be worth a try. When I was discontinuing Paxil and taking Prozac I felt great in the transition phase so I might try that next.

So..what your saying is that prozac didnt cause sexual side effects with you either. But it does for most people?? I just got off paxil (didnt do a damn thing for me) but its interesting that you mentioned a paxil/prozac combo....its something to think about..do you have social phobia or just anxiety and depression?

hi, again, sandy,
unfortunately i'm with the majority. it's harder to "org***" (lol). i'm not too worried about it because i don't plan to stay on this med anyway. but a lot of people mention taking ginkgo as a solution; it's supposed to work very well. (just some info in case you do get this side effect when the prozac takes its full effect.)-amy :)
