Hi
I have had heart arrithmias for over 10 years.
I changed my lifestyle and they were not so bad.
I have been taking Paroxetine 20mg for about 3 months with no heart problem.
I've recently been taking 5htp 50mg a night because it really helps apathy and anxiety...and depression .My hearts going crazy...but I'm not anxiuos.
I'm pissed because whenever something helps I get a side effect or allergy.
Why shoud 5htp do this?
I know there's probably no answer :(
Should I stop the 5htp and increase paroxetine by 10mg?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks.

This could be symptoms of mild and transient serotonin syndrome. Combining the most potent SSRI with serotonin precursor could result in elavated serotonin. One of the symptoms of serotonin syndrome can be tachycardia and cardiovascular events.

Hi CC
It's calmed down a bit now so it may be the 5htp..
The ahrrithmias are mostly harmless but annoying-theyre on the mind all the time..it's unfair as I felt normal-ish not high..i even went out shopping with no problem.
I don't know about Indrel..I'll have a look.
