Not sleeping, can't sit still, conversations with myself. Then I get suicidally depressed. Round and round I go!

Are you taking any medications?

Sounds like you need a big dose of Zyprexa & a good lie down. :)
What meds do you normally take?
Cheers,
Panda.

I take lamictal, lithium, and ativan to sleep. On nights where it gets bad I take Zyprexa. It works great for rapid cycling, but turns me into a zombie and I really need to be alert for my job. My doctor and I have been toying with some antidepressants because the depressions have gotten so bad, but I'm very sensitive to them. Last night I took the Zyprexa, slept and feel a little better today. It's the weekend so I can take the Zyprexa tonight and tomorrow. My doctor wants me to increase the lamictal as much as I can stand. The problem is it gives me insomnia...we'll see what happens. I'm thinking of trying a low dose of Zyprexa every night. The doc said this would be a good idea.

>Taking Zyprexa on a regular basis would let you build tolerance to the zombifying effect & should allow you to not need Ativan. I also wonder if a TCA might be worth trying. Amitriptyline hits all the same receptors as Zyprexa except dopamine....
Zyprexa combined with your favourite SSRI might be the best answer.Cheers,
Panda.

Thanks Panda. My doctor said he thought maybe Paxil + Zyprexa. I would really like to do without the Ativan. I give him a call.

There is a person on this board using Effexor + Zyprexa for Bipolar, but I can't remember her name as I haven't see her here for awhile. Lily sell Symbyax for Bipolar which is Prozac + Zyprexa combined in the one pill, so it must have some merit. It might also let you quit Lithium and/or take less Lamictal.
Cheers,
Panda.

Hi
Was following yr thread- I am exactly like this. Has your doctor considered any other anti- psychotics apart from zyprexia. I believe abilfy does not make you a zombie.
