Can you find a doctor that will perscribe a beta blocker ?? Go to the emergency room and demand that something be done.
Say that despite the normal results of the ECG, you are experiencing significant problems with your heart. Make it clear that you *cannot* concentrate on your daily activities because of palpatitions, chest pain, and persistant heart disturbances.
I had the exact same problem with effexor. My BP would surge all the time, but when I went to the doctors office it would alsways be noramal.
Eventually I worked it out with coffee so that my doctors apointment would detect the problems I was having at other times in the day. In some ways this is deceitfull but I was plain tired of having the doctor say nothing was wrong.
Finally they perscribed atenolol which controlled everything. Somtimes you have to be your own doctor.

> thanksHi, Crazychick
I am sorry You are going through this sheer state of panic.I too am going through a very intense time. Have been for last few hrs. Hard to take a deep breath etc. I wish I had something more useful for you to try cuz panic and anxiety suck!If you can, try to focus on something calm. Something soothing on TV. Some soft music etc. You can do this. It is within your power and personal grasp to calm down. I know that when these episodes hit, that it seems like nothing can stop them. But that is simply not true. I know you are most likely either with your young daughter or maybe even by yourself and I know that is very hard for you. I have the utmost empathy for you and your situation. It may not seem like it, but it will pass. It always does. Doesn't?
Is there anybody you can call or reach out to. Family member? Friend? Anybody who even knows your situation even a little. It is good you are posting here on Babble! You are literally surrounded by thousands of cyber-friends. From the UK to Canada, to the United States, Germany, Australia and many, many more locations all over this great big world. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! :)... We care for you and your well being! So do not cave in or submit to the lies of that monster, anxiety and panic. This may be hard but it might be worth a try.... as you try your best to focus on something nuetral, wheather it is TV, good music or whatever; just remember that you ARE bigger than this thing in your chest and your head. Can you read something interesting? Find a game show on TV that lets you just get lost in it. Try to read something that is ultra simple and easy to comprehend. I know it is hard but it CAN be done! Also stay away from 'bad news' like the garbage that the media is pumping around the world via out Computer screens and via or TV's. If you find yourself inclined to watch or catch a snipet of depressing, morbid, murder and hate filled news, from Saudi Arabia and War torn Iraq...Only allow your self so much...then flip channels or turn it off. You have got enough to be concerned about and watching all that trash can and will bring you down even further! In any case, keep posting and we'll all be here to help you thru and support you as best as we can!! I hope that somewhat helps. Again, I know its' not easy, but you do have some control over your anxiety states;hard as that may be to beleive. DON'T GIVE IN OR GIVE UP!!! You can beat this and win. Also when You do beat it, you will be very proud of yourself for beating it. You will find that you are still alive and kicken'...You can do it!! We are all pulling for 'Donna', so don't forget that!
My Very Best!

There is definately some core component of your mood disorder that is not being covered by the remeron.
I don't think you're bipolar from the posts I've read, but I do think that you may have some sort of panic disorder that has come up since that bad experience you had with effexor.
Personally I don't think that remeron is the best thing for panic. I think that perhaps the remeron should be reduced, and augmented with something.Have you tried 5-htp with remeron ??
You really need to give the inderal a whirl. Even if its just a couple of doses, it may really take your mind off the heart.

Hey, girl, sorry your night is so full of fear and have just said a prayer that you have peace and a restful night. Try to concentrate on your breathing exercises and slowly think " I can do this, I can do this". You are strong enough to win your war tonight, mentally you know you are safe and need to remind yourself of that.If you are not alone, ask for a back rub or someone to sit quietly and talk with you. Please let us know how it turns out. I wish I had the perfect advise but you have come to the best place for support!

>Donna, please take an Inderal, they won't kill you I promise. :) Your doctor has done the best that he can do when he gave you the Inderal script as it is ideal for stopping your symptoms. No one has ever died from taking an Inderal.
If you are too phobic to take an Inderal all I can say is no one has ever died from a panic attack either, it's not nice, but it will pass.
Cheers,
Panda.

I know this sounds simple, but it does work. First, breathe deeply and slowly into a paper bag. Then, do progressive muscle relaxation. Of course, give that Inderal one try. At least, one try and let us know how it goes.

>Next time you are having a palpitation attack make a cup of tea, sit down with it, take 1/2 an Inderal & relax for 30 minutes. If not much has happened after 30 minutes take the other half.

Panda.
