It seems I am very impatient person, and feel often agitated. I have been on many AD's along with klonopin and still feel this way. I may have brief periods when I feel more relxed but not often. I'm confused with my DX. I don't know whether I have GAD, ADD, or BP II. In my case these feelings often lead to a low mood. I feel slightly depressed but am often able to function at work home etc. My current doctor seems to think I may be BP II. She gave me Symbyax. I tried it last night and it knocked me out for 24 hours. The starter pack is combination of 6 mg of zyprexa and 25 mgs of prozac in one pill. Both starting dosages seem to be very high. I am currently on 150 mgs of Effexor and 1 mg of klonopin which isn't doing much. I need help.

Id suggest trying the zyprexa alone, and at a lower dose to start with, since prozac can be very agitating. You can start zyprexa at 2.5mg and go up from there if needed. The daytime sedation usually fades and it really works well, for me and a lot of others. I keep my agitation under control with klonopin (which you might consider trying to raise before the zyprexa, but Im assuming you already have) and zyprexa. In addition the zyprexa can really boost your antidepressant response to effexor, with or without prozac.

Forgot to mention anticonvulsants, especially neurontin, can be good too.

I'm not sure what to advise you except to tell you my experience. The only psychotropic drug I took until a couple months a go was Lexapro 30 mg. It got rid of just about all of my depression and most of my anxiety. But I still had anxiety and symptoms of ADD.
My doc first tried me on Wellbutrin (in addition to Lexapro). But it made me more jittery. Then he tried me on Strattera (with Lexparo). I now feel more relaxed and more focused. I take 120 mg per day.

Thanks for the input. I'm actually strongly considering Strattera. What are your major side effects?
