Guys, I got some great advice when I was titrating up to 10 mg. Hopefully you can help again!
I've been taking 10 mg for about a week. I was wondering:
1) If I take more will I feel even better? Sunday pm blues and Monday AM blahs are gone. I don't obsess over conversations I had with people anymore. If I said something stupid well, whatever. If I take 15 or 20 mg will I be even more content?
2) Can I just take an extra one occasionally if things are hairy? I realized my doc put "one or two pills daily" on the prescription. I know I have to ask him about that but what is everyone's experience?
3) I've noticed that several people have complained of going up in weight when they go up in dose. I'm pretty thin to start, and I lost about five pounds when I started but since then I'm stable. I work out about five times a week but it sounds like even people like me can go up in weight when they up their dose.
Has anybody lost lexapro weight after gaining?
THanks so much for your feedback
warmly

1. No if you take more you will not feel better than you do on 10 mg. You may, but you may not. If 10 mg is working for you then stick with it.
2. Wouldn't recommend taking more than 1 pill a day. You probably wouldnt get any benefit from it and may feel worse from it.
3. Healthy diet and good exercise program and you shouldnt experience noticeable weight gain.
Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your help!
It really means alot to me that you took the time to answer. It's so helpful to be on this board.
Am continuing with the one pill and hoping it keeps doing whatever it's doing!

>Currently at 30mg. My pdoc told me I could take 40 around that time of the month to help w/PMS symptoms and go back to 30 for rest of month. Have done this with good results.
Weight - I lost 10lbs initially, have gained most of it back after one year on Lex. I put it back on when I was having a rough time during the holidays. I would like to loose it again, will have to eat better as I love to snack on *bad* things when it's that time o'month.
Just remember you are different and you may not react the same way others do. You know your own body, listen to it and not your worry-brain and you should be ok!~~~8|8

Mariposa,
Thanks so much for the feedback. Actually I must be doing pretty good on the 10 mg. Yesterday I actually dared to question why I'm not promoted at work. (Another guy was promoted. I wasn't.) My boss, who is normally a good guy REALLY lashed out at me. He said there had been "client complaints."
The OLD pre lex-me would have sobbed all the way home and hidden under the bed.
The new me got mad. Where does he come off doing that? And if there were complaints, why wasn't I told so that I could make some changes?
I didn't storm into his office. I talked to a few friends about it and I sent him a very nice e-mail about how we needed to talk again. And when we do I'll be very nice and straightforward. And find out what were these comments and why wasn't I informed earlier when I could do something?
I could kill the guy but I"m handling it. Before Lex I would be killing ME.
How I do go on! Sorry. (Hee hee.)
This is the end of the thread.
