I'd like to hear about experiences with selegiline. What are its effects on depression and on your body? Side effects?

I just started very low dose (2.5mg) Selegiline last week, so I don't have much experience to share yet. The main effect that I have noticed is that Selegiline is surprisingly activating. When I was thinking about starting it, I looked around on the board for other people's experiences with it. Below (not in any particular order) are some of the posts I thought were most interesting. I hope this helps.

I am beginning my 4th week of selegiline 10 mgs/day ) and 1500 mgs of phenylalanine.
I can't really say that depression has lifted, and I am wondering if I want to continue, because I do often have trouble sleeping. To be fair, the insomnia sometimes makes me so desperate that I load up on too much klonopin (too much of which I KNOW makes me depressed).
I am starting to feel ready to give up on this, but I will try to give it more time and maybe look for a sleep aid that won;t cause weight gain.
Hope this is at least a bit helpful....
Diane
