First I want to thank you for answering my post about how long to keep medication before discarding them. But I have a question for you. Well here is my problem! I have a couple of bottles of Klonopin left over from previous refills. The experation dates on the pharmacy bottles say they are about to expire in a couple of months. I want to save them and use them because I am on a tight budget and it takes all I can to buy my meds every month
You mentioned in response to my earlier post that putting them in the freezer may help preserve their potency (should I put them in the freezer or refigerator). You also mentioned that wraping the bottle in cling wrap would help. What is your opinion on what I should do.
Thanks so much for answering my previous post and thanks in advance if you answer this post. By the way I think your answers and info are GREAT.

Most of the big pharm companies have compassion programs, that provide their drugs to people who can't afford them. Each company has its own guidelines, but you can check out sites like NAMI or Depression Central for links to the programs. Usually, low income and a need for the drugs is about all it takes, and most companies send the drugs to your doctor directly -- about a three month supply at a time.
Good luck.
