has anyone ever had a Tricyclic added to an SSRI and did it work? My p-doc is thinking about adding Anafranil to my Luvox (which im taking the max 300mg daily) for my OCD---do you think this will work? Has anyone else done this and had success?
He had also mentioned adding Seroquel to the Luvox for OCD at one point but he changes his mind at every visit. What do you guys think>?

I took Trazodone with Zoloft(400mg) for OCD and it did nothing. I have had wonderful results(ocd, not depression) with Lexapro, 30mg. J

>I think you need a blood test to see how much you actually have in your system as you may be a fast metabolizer.
If the blood level was high it might be better to try another SSRI or Anafranil alone.

Hi I was taking 80 mg of Prozac and elavil together. I didn't have any weird side effects or anything. The elavil was just too sedating.
So yes, it can be done. I have a friend who has had great result with Anafranil for OCD but she doesn't take an SSRI with it because she is bipolar and all SSRIs make her manic.
